At times, Spotify might lead you to a heart aching situation within no time. You open Spotify and hit 'Play' to listen to some music but you end up hearing two sounds; the first sound being that of your breathing and the other, that of your heartbeat. To mean, you get no sound from Spotify but you can see the song is playing. If I then switch to the Sonos App it says 'Last played in this room - Spotify' and under that it says Guest Account. This is despite me Removing the Spotify Account and adding it again. I can then play music via the Sonos App over the Sonos Ones. But I can't connect from the Spotify app, which I've also reinstalled. Download and install the Spotify app on iPhone or Android. Open Spotify and search the song that you want to play. Select a result from the Top Results, Artists or Albums section. This will take you to the respective album or artist page. Save your searched song by swiping it to the left or selecting Save from the song options. Tap on the Shuffle Play button to play a random song from the list of available songs. Go to Menu Your Music. Check you're not trying to play local files, as they aren’t supported by Chromecast. Still not working? Restart the Spotify app. Close any other apps you’re not using. Restart your devices. Restart your WiFi. If possible, try a different WiFi connection. For more Chromecast troubleshooting tips, you can visit Google’s Help Centre.
